Doing something for others through community or volunteering projects can help us to build skills without the pressure of a ‘career’ goal. Engaging with activities that make you, and others, feel good can offer a change to build confidence, build our teamworking skills and our ability to solve problems. Working with limited time and/or budgets also supports creative thinking and adaptability.

If you are interested in building specific skills, like project management, advocacy, networking and event management, these activities can really support their development too.

If you are interested in learning more about your current skills, you can evaluate your skills using the ‘Skills Discovery’ tool, accessible via your CRSID.
