About the Studentship

The new Trinity-Cambridge Research Studentships (TCRS) are available for applicants beginning their course in 2025/26. The Studentships aim  to promote research through PhD Studentships with approximately 30 Studentships available in the first year 2025/26.

The programme is jointly funded by Trinity College and the University of Cambridge.

Eligibility

The Studentships are for PhD research, with a small number of MPhil Studentships available in the Schools of Arts and Humanities and Humanities and Social Sciences.

Applicants do not need to apply to or be a member of Trinity College, nor apply for the Studentship. They will be automatically considered for an award through a recommendation by their Department or Faculty.

Successful students will be expected to complete an annual academic progress report and acknowledge TCRS support in all research outputs.

Benefits

These generous Studentships will cover:

  • maintenance
  • fees at the international or home rate
  • visa and health surcharge costs, where applicable
  • a research allowance that will be in line with Research Council allowances within the School/Faculty/Department to which students are admitted.
