Undergraduate students

All undergraduates will be housed in College accommodation, at least during your first year. This may be on the main College site or elsewhere in the city.

If you’re offered a place to study, you will automatically be guaranteed a room in College accommodation for your first year.

Accommodation is guaranteed for 3 or 4 years for single students without children. This accommodation will be in College-owned property.

Accommodation costs vary from College to College. They also usually depend on the size of your room and whether it's en suite.

The Undergraduate Study website provides further information.

Postgraduate students

Colleges try to provide accommodation for most new postgraduates. Availability can vary from College to College and year to year. This means not all postgraduates live in College and instead will live in private accommodation.

University Accommodation Service

Where College accommodation is not possible, or not practical, the University's Accommodation Service can provide useful support.

This service helps any current member of the University and visiting scholars. They let University-owned properties, and advertise rooms, apartments and houses from private landlords.

The University also has a Childcare Service dedicated to supporting you with childcare and schooling in Cambridge.
