From 1st January 2011 this scheme is closed to new applications. The final group of international students supported by this scheme started in October 2011.
Each DHPA is jointly sponsored by both a Research Council partner and a private sector company partner. Further details can be found on the Research Councils UK website. The awards are a partnership between the private sector partner, who bids for the funds from the Research Council, and the academic institution (who is contacted by the private sector company partner if they are successful in their bid for funds).
